The Opportunity

Bermuda has a strong sailing tradition, but access is limited and progression pathways are not consistent. Too often, young people are introduced to sailing but do not have the structure or support needed to continue and develop over time.

What We’re Building

The Prodigy Sailing Foundation is creating a structured, development-focused sailing programme designed to bridge the gap between access and long-term progression. Our approach focuses on removing barriers to entry while providing a clear and consistent pathway for young sailors to grow.

Core components include:

• Regular, structured on-water sessions

• Small-group coaching for quality instruction

• Clear progression pathways across skill levels

• A strong emphasis on safety, consistency, and professionalism

• Integration of Bermuda’s maritime heritage into learning

This summer, we are launching our pilot programme.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Your donation directly supports the preparation and repair of training boats, safety equipment and programme setup, coaching and structured programme delivery, and facility preparation to support safe operations. Every part of this campaign is focused on getting young sailors on the water safely and consistently.

A Note from the Founder

As someone who has worked in youth sailing in Bermuda, I have seen firsthand the gap between access and progression. Prodigy was created to close that gap, to ensure that young people not only get on the water, but have a clear pathway to grow and succeed.

This pilot programme is the first step in building something long term and meaningful for our community. Thank you for being part of it.
